As a teacher, my focus is on supporting the curriculum of all students we serve K-5.  I meet quarterly with grade levels and the specialist team, where we discuss the standards and learning goals that are going to be covered during the following quarter. 

 

So what does this mean for your child?

During class or during a different special like STEM or Media, the students will see connections from our interactive lessons to a variety of standards that they are learning in Math, Language Arts, Science, & Social Studies.  For example, students might see me come and visit their class a few times a month to teach them about internet safety.  I also might be seen working with Ms. Lanier or Ms. Ferreira on a special project involving technology. 

 

What technology does Mrs. Johnson use?

Many times students will see their curriculum enhanced during our special together through the use of Chromebooks, WCPSS Google Apps, iPads, & SmartBoards.  I like to find credible websites and resources for our students to use that will take something they have learned and raise it to a whole different level.  We also use texts from our library to create a foundation in Language Arts to connect to all of our learning using fundamental skills.
